Baby Boy Album in a Box

Hello crafty friends!

Today I'm sharing a baby album I created that when fully assembled folds up into this cute little box. I purchased the album tutorial from Your Book of Memories by Frances Long. She is an incredible artist and worth checking out. If you are interested in making this album for yourself, here is the direct link to the tutorial:

This project took me 36 hours to complete over the course of two weeks. The album is big and chunky and filled with tons of pages, pockets, flips, flaps, and belly bands. It measures 8.75" wide  x 10.75" tall x 2.5" deep and will hold 50-60 photos.

My album uses the adorable Baby Boy collection by Echo Park. I purchased one collection kit plus the coordinating solids and embellishments. After I finished constructing the album, I realized that I wouldn't have enough patterned paper to cover it all. So I dug into my stash and found some coordinating papers from Pinkfresh Studio. In hindsight, I wish I had purchased two collection kits and fewer embellishments.

I chose to use black cardstock for my base as I really like the elegant contrast against the bright colourful papers. I lined the outside with patterned paper and decorated the cover with chipboard stickers, brads, twine and added them to a piece of holographic cardstock on top of some navy cardstock I trimmed with a Martha Stewart border punch. I added some metal photo corners to the right side.

Here are some close-up photos and there's a video at the end showcasing the entire album!

My BFF is expecting her first grandchild in August and I gifted this album to her daughter-in-law, the proud mommy-to-be. They are anxiously awaiting for the baby to arrive and are looking forward to taking lots of photos to fill up baby's first album. :D

Thanks for stopping by my blog and please let me know if you have any questions.

Have a wonderful day! :)
