Swan Wedding Card

Hello friends,

Today I'm sharing a wedding card I made for my daughter's wedding. The wedding was this past weekend and I'm still feeling all the feels from that beautiful day. It's been quite an emotional roller coaster ride the last few months. She's my first child to leave the nest and I miss her so much already, but I'm slowly getting used to this (partially) empty nest.

The card I created features the lovely Splendid Swans stamp set by My Favorite Things.

The card is a standard A2 size (5.5" x 4.25"). First I created the background by inking up a white cardstock panel of the same size with Distress Oxide Inks: Tumbled Glass, Worn Lipstick, and Spiced Marmalade. I added a few droplets of water and dabbed it with a paper towel to make it look like water splatters.

Then I created the scalloped frame by using a Lawn Fawn die, which is actually from their Scalloped Rectangle Stackables set. Since I didn't have the actual frame die, I simply used my exacto knife and steel ruler to cut a rectangle around the inside of the scalloped panel to create the frame. Once that was done, I adhered it to my card panel.

Then I stamped the swans, the lily pads, flowers and cattail plants in Versafine Onyx Black ink which I heat embossed with clear embossing powder. I watercoloured the images with Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers. Once those were all coloured, I fussy cut them and set them aside. I then stamped and heat embossed the lovely sentiment.

Next I started planning out my pond scene.Once I was happy with the placement of my images, I glued them down using my Lawn Fawn glue tube and popped up the swans and the flowers with 3-D foam dots.

As a finishing touch, I added 4mm clear droplets in various places. And that's my finished card!
